Installation #
- Firstly, you need to purchase the Everest Forms Pro plugin.
- After the successful purchase, you will get the plugin zip file under your WPEverest account page.
- Now, you can download the Everest Forms Pro from there.
- Through your WordPress Dashboard, visit Plugins -> Add New -> Upload and then choose the downloaded zip file, and then install and activate it.
- Now go to Everest Forms > Add-ons > All Features.
- Search Telegram add-on and install it.
Configuration #
To integrate Telegram with your contact forms, you will need a Telegram API key.
Generating Telegram API key #
A bot has to be created by the customer to start the configuration process so that they integrate Telegram with Everest Forms.
- Open the Telegram Messenger and sign in to your account, or create a new one if you have not already.
- Enter @BotFather in the search tab and choose the relevant bot.
Note: The official Telegram bots have a tick mark on their name.
- Click Start to activate the BotFather bot. You will receive a list of commands to manage the bots.
- Choose or type the /newbot command and click Send.
- You will need to choose a name for the bot and then a username. The username has the ‘_bot’ prefix.
You will get the API key once you create the username for the bot. You can type and send /token to receive the API key again.
- Copy the API key to your clipboard.
Integrating Telegram with Everest Forms #
Authorizing API #
Once you have generated the API key, go to the following location.
Everest Forms > Settings > Integration > Telegram
- Insert the generated API Key and provide the integration with a nickname.
- Click on the Connect to Telegram button. Once connected, you will see the following.
Creating a Telegram Group for Group ID #
You will need a Telegram group once you have integrated the Telegram to the Everest Forms. But before that, search for the JsonDumpBot channel and click on the Start button in this channel.
- Forward any message from the group you have created to the JsonDumpBot. You will then get the channel or group ID.
- Copy this ID to a clipboard.
Sending form details to Telegram #
- Go to Everest Forms > All Forms.
- Edit a form. Or, create a new form from scratch.
- Go to Form Settings > Telegram
Here, you can provide the name of the notification. In the Channel or Group ID, enter the group ID you generated from the steps given above.
On the Telegram Message, you can put the content of the message as per your need. Use the smart tags to map form field values. Click on the <> button and use the available form fields as smart tags.
